Kevin and Jill Rose's McVities White Chocolate and Raspberry Cookies review

We were first alerted to the existence of these biscuits a few months ago when they were spotted on 'special offer', two packets for the price of one.  Before we tried them we could tell that they were going to be good because they were in very up-market packaging and only came in packs of 12.  This 12 cookie limit is the only flaw that we've found.  The classy looking packet has a matt finish instead of the more traditional gloss finish.  The colour of the packet is raspberry coloured stripes.

Once inside the high quality packaging continues with the biscuits in a protective plastic tray,  which can double as a disguarded tea-bag holder, when emptied of biscuits.

The biscuits themselves appear larger than normal biscuits which can only be a good thing, particularly in this case.  They are almost the diameter of a Wagon Wheel and the thickness of a Cookie Shop cookie.  This is probably a safety feature, added by the clever cookie scientists at McVities, making them too big to be dunked as this would spoil them.

The texture of the biscuit part is similar to fruit shortcakes (dead fly biscuits) but without the sugar on top.  This lack of sugar is more than made up for by the addition of white chocolate and raspberries.  The white chocolate and raspberries appear in the form of chips mixed into the cookie dough.  We believe the taste is as yet, unsurpassed.  Truely a biscuit made in heaven.

The addition of rasberries also means that you can eat them, safe in the knowledge that you are getting a daily portion of fruit. Which makes these biscuits truely unquie, they taste wonderful and are (probably) actually good for you.
